Formerly the premier children’s choir program in the Upstate, Chicora Voices bears a more than 20 year legacy of serving the Carolinas the highest quality musical performances, outreach, and education.
Philip Reed — Artistic Director
A conductor, singer, composer, and musicologist, Philip Reed holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Furman University and master’s degrees in choral conducting from the University of Georgia and in comparative culture from International Christian University in Tokyo. His musical expertise runs the gamut from Gregorian chant, Renaissance, and Baroque music to new music, American folk music, and East Asian classical music.
As an alumnus of the Chicora Voices children’s choir program since its founding, Philip is excited to lead our organization in its new and exciting venture into professional choral singing.
